Your Muscle Gain Nutrition – Are You Making Any Of These 10 FATAL Errors?

By Arun Chase

Today was a great day, a guy I had been training the last few months achieved the results he had previously dreamed of.Variety Of Nutrition

When he first came to see me though, even though he had his weight training sorted, his nutrition let him down! Well that held his muscle growth back BUT he wouldn’t change it because he was too lazy!

It was then, I gave him a piece of my mind and pointed out all the MISTAKES he had been making and needed to correct! It really hit home for him and, lucky for him, he immediately started to make changes to his diet!

And that’s what got him to his dream body! He is now 201lbs and 8% body fat! And when I say this has made a huge impact to his life, it truly has!

His confidence grew and he found the girl of his dreams, and she is HOTTT (hopefully my partner’s not reading this :)) and his friends finally respected him!!

So this inspired me, and I decided to write to you about the 10 WORST nutritional mistakes you could make when looking for muscle growth!!

Seriously, don’t be lazy with this, because if you keep away from these errors you could see a huge improvement in your results!

Nutrition Mistake #1: Eating A Tiny Breakfast

When you wake up, your carbohydrate levels in your body are at their lowest! That means your body starts to actually BREAK DOWN your muscle to provide the energy it requires!

So to prevent that from happening you need to eat a healthy BIG breakfast! A tiny one will just mean more muscle breakdown!

Nutrition Mistake #2: Missing Out On Pre, During And Post Workout Nutrition

I’m going to surprise you here…but your muscles get BROKEN DOWN DURING your workout, whereas The GROWTH happens AFTER the workout!!

Your overall aim is to get and increase your NET GROWTH i.e. you want to reduce the amount of muscle being broken down during the workout, and increase the amount of muscle being built back after!

To do this you need to get a decent quantity of carbohydrates and protein before, during and after your workout! Without that you could POTENTIALLY lose muscle overall!

Nutrition Mistake #3: Treating Fat Like The Enemy

Eating the right types of fat (unsaturated fats) can help boost the hormones testosterone and growth hormone in your body!

These are really important as they helps boost your muscle growth!! So stop avoiding fat like it was the plague!! Otherwise you just won’t get the muscle you want!

You can look for foods such as avocados, olives, nuts etc.

Nutrition Mistake #4: Avoiding Carbohydrates

Keeping your carbohydrates topped up throughout the day prevents muscle loss! So to keep your hard-earned muscle, you want to try and consume slow digesting carbohydrates (complex carbohydrates and low GI carbohydrates) at each meal.

Don’t avoid carbs because you think you’ll put on fat, because without carbs you won’t gain any muscle!

Nutrition Mistake #5: Not Drinking Enough Water

Water has a huge impact on your strength, endurance and general performance! So if you’re slightly dehydrated it will sabotage you from the results you want!

At least drink 8 glasses of water a day! And make sure you keep yourself hydrated as you workout!

Nutrition Mistake #6: Not Consuming Enough Protein

Protein is what builds your muscle back bigger! Not the workout or anything else! PROTEIN! But you need to eat more than what your body requires for energy, so that you can grow!

Sometimes you may need supplements for that! But whatever you do, do not settle for eating just “SOME” protein! Eat enough for muscle growth!

Nutrition Mistake #7: Not Counting Calories And Over Eating At Meal Times

Your aim is to put on as much muscle as possible without putting on any fat!

If you don’t count calories you won’t know where you stand! That means you’ll make mistakes which may lead to reduced muscle gain, and a larger break down of muscle!

It could also lead to overeating at meal times, when you don’t need to. This means you could pack on fat as well, which is NOT good news for your six pack!

Nutrition Mistake #8: Using Supplements As Your Diet

Some supplements can be good in doing their job of SUPPLEMENTING your diet, where you find it difficult to get enough of the nutrients you require through food!

However some people (I used to do this) believe taking supplements alone can get you the muscle growth you want, so you can eat whatever you want otherwise! i.e. supplements can become your muscle gain diet!

WRONG! supplements can only influence your results by around 15%. Start eating right FIRST. then add the supplements after!

Nutrition Mistake #9: Eating 3 meals a day and NOT Planning Your Meals Well Enough

Your body constantly needs food to prevent muscle loss! 3 meals per day won’t get you enough food in your body and will mean potentially 5-6 hours between each meal!

You need to consume 5-6 MEALS per day, eating every 2-3 hours to ensure better muscle growth! If you miss meals you will NOT get the results you are looking for!

And that’s where the planning comes in. If you don’t plan, you’ll find obstacles that come in the way that prevent you from completing this important rule!

So plan for any obstacles, at least one day in advance!

Nutrition Mistake #10: Following A “Watch What I Eat” Approach To Nutrition

YOU NEED A NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM! I REPEAT YOU NEED A NUTRITIONAL PROGRAM!

There are far too many people, who say things like “Oh I watch what I eat

Watching food go into your mouth isn’t going to cut it! You need a nutritional program that will get you the nutrients you require and at the right time for the results you want!
